For your release to be applicable for YouTube Content ID every track in the release has to be a complete original and not contain any third-party material that was originally released by another musician. This means if you have an album of 10 tracks and even one of those tracks contains third-party material, you won’t be able to deliver any of the other 9 tracks to Content ID.
So, for example, collaborating with other musicians on your own release such as having a back-up singer is allowed. But cover versions, remixes or using beats and samples from existing songs or online libraries [even free sample libraries] unfortunately won’t be allowed to opt-in for social monetisation.
We can only deliver new releases to YouTube Content ID, so if your release has already been submitted or is live, unfortunately it can’t be delivered to Content ID.
