Will the other artist collect my royalties?
NO! The way the stores pay out the royalties of a track is based on the ISRC code of a release and isn't affected in any way by the artist profile on which the track is listed on. This means that even if your release has been listed on the artist page of another artist for two weeks you will still receive 100% of the royalties earned for this release.
Will I lose my streams when my release gets linked to the correct artist profile?
NO! The stream count of a release is not linked to the artist profile. So, if your release has currently 20,000 plays while it was linked to the profile of another artist, it will still have those 20,000 plays once it's linked to your correct artist profile.
Why is my release on the profile of another artist?
All releases that get sent to the stores will be assigned to artist profiles by the stores’ systems. If there are several artists with the same artist name, for example Sam an artist from the UK and Sam, a band from Germany, it can happen that a release gets linked to an incorrect artist page. Here’s more on why you should release music under a unique artist name.
How can I request that my release will be linked to the correct artist profile?
You will need to open this form, fill out your details and send it to our team so we can help you with this request. So that our team can process your request as soon as possible we would kindly ask you to provide them with the below information in your request:
- The UPC of the release that was linked incorrectly. You can find the UPC in the My Releases section in your account.
- The links to your release in all the stores where it was linked incorrectly.
Please send all incorrect store links to our support team.
Please note that for Spotify we need the URI of the release and not the album link. You can find the URI by right-clicking on the release title, selecting ‘Share’ and ‘Copy Spotify URI’.
- The link to the profile on which the release is currently listed.
For Spotify, please provide the Profile URI that you can copy by right clicking the artist profile, selecting ‘Share’ and ‘Copy Spotify URI)’. - If you already have an existing profile in the stores, please provide a link to it.
