Whether a transferred release will keep its streams and playlist positions is dependent on the stores.
However, if you transfer your release with the exact same metadata chances are very high that your release will keep its streams and playlist spots.
Which metadata needs to match?
Most importantly the audio file. It needs to be exactly the same, so please don't upload a slightly different version. A slightly longer 2-3 seconds fade out could be enough to prevent your release from keeping its streams.
The artist name, the release title, the cover art and the song titles should also match.
You will also want to include the original release date, which you can do in the advanced settings when uploading your release to make sure it is displayed in the correct place in your profile rather than appearing as a new release.
How long does it take for my streams to match?
Once your transferred release is live in the stores it takes around two to five business days till the streams match.
How can I see if my release has matched with the old one?
The release will be duplicated once the plays have matched. This will either be displayed with a '1 more release' button like the below or the release will be displayed twice in your profile.
Please check the plays of each release to see if they have matched [you can do this by hovering over the play bars on the right hand side], if they have you can take down your product from your other distributor.
If your release has less than 1000 streams there is, unfortunately, no way to determine whether the play have transferred.
