How to transfer to Spinnup

To transfer your release from another distributor to Spinnup all you have to do is upload your music through Spinnup, wait a few days for the stores to match it to the existing versions, and then ask your current distributor to take the old version down. 

How to move your music to Spinnup

To make the transfer as smooth as possible keeping your playlist positions and play counts, it’s important that you provide the following when you upload your music to Spinnup:

✅ The exact same audio files, artwork, artist name(s) and titles as you used for the original release

✅ Original ISRC code for each track

✅ Original UPC code for each release

✅ The original release date

Once your release is live in stores

After we have approved and published your release, it can take up to five days for the stores to match it to the existing product. While this happens, you may see two separate copies of your music on the services. 

If your music appears with the '1 more release' button on Spotify, like the image below, this means your product has matched and you can remove your original release from the other distributor. 

Will I keep my streams and playlist positions when I transfer to Spinnup?

Whether a transferred release will keep its streams and playlist positions is dependent on the stores but if you transfer your release with the exact same metadata chances are extremely high that your release will keep its streams and playlist spots.

Can I keep my artist profile when I transfer to Spinnup?

Yes, you can!

The artist profiles are created by stores and are not linked to any distributor, which means that you can easily upload you're released songs to Spinnup and still keep your artist profile.

During the upload just select the correct profile in our Spotify Drop Down field when you enter your artist name.

Can I transfer previously used ISRC / UPC codes to Spinnup?

Yes, you can!
