Transferring your music from another distributor to Spinnup is easy and we can help you make sure you keep your playlist positions and play counts. All you have to is upload your music through Spinnup, wait a few days for the stores to match it to the existing versions, and then ask your current distributor to take it down. Your releases will still be in the right date order on your Spotify artist page.
To make the transfer as smooth as possible and help Spotify and the other stores maintain your playlist positions and play counts, it’s important that you provide the following when you upload your music to Spinnup:
- Exactly the same audio files, artwork, artist name(s) and titles as you used when you previously released your music
- The UPC code of your release and the ISRC of each track*
- The original release dates *
*These need to be entered in the “advanced settings” on the Spinnup uploader
Once we have approved and published your release, it can take up to five days for the stores to match it to the existing product. During this time you may see two separate copies of your music on the services.
If your music appears as below with the '1 more release' button this means your product has matched and you can remove your release from the other distributor.
If your product is duplicated without the button, please check the plays of each release to see if they have matched [you can do this by hovering over the play bars on the right hand side], if they have you can take down your product from your other distributor.
Unfortunately, if your release has less than 1000 plays you will be unable to verify that the releases have matched. Of course, if you have any questions or need further guidance about transferring your catalog to Spinnup don't hesitate to ask out Support Team.
